Ninja Hattori-kun

Ninja Hattori-kun is a manga series created by Fujiko Fujio A (Motoo Abiko). It is an initial ninja manga that started in 1964. By the way, the name of Hattori is inspired by Hattori Hanzo.

A main character, Ken’ichi Mitsuba that is a primary school children is bad both exercise and study. Meanwhile, a little ninja named Hattori Kanzo befriends Ken’ichi. Hattori helps Ken’ichi with his problems as a good friend.

Kumamoto Prefecture


Prefectural capital:Kumamoto City
Kumamoto Prefecture is one of the major crop producing regions in Japan, being the top domestic producer of tomato, soft rush, leaf tobacco, baby’s breath and watermelon.

In tourism, you should visit Kumamoto Castle which was built about 400 years ago. The curved stone walls, known as musha-gaeshi was designed to prevent attackers from penetrating the castle. Apart from that, Mount Aso that is active volcano, has the huge calderas is the symbol of Kumamoto.

Nagasaki Prefecture


Because Japan in Edo period was under Sakoku (the self-imposed isolationist policy) , it had been prohibited to trade with foreign countries. Still, Dejima in Nagasaki only had been permitted to trade, various cultures had been introduced from Europe and China. From this historical background, many Western style building such as Ōura Church that is the oldest Roman Catholic church in Japan, and Glover Garden that built for a Scottish merchant, Thomas Blake Glover remain in Nagasaki Prefecture. In addition, there is Nagasaki Chinatown that is one of three designated Chinatowns (Yokohama, Kobe and Nagasaki) in Japan.

On August 9 1945, the United States Army Air Forces dropped an atomic bomb on Nagasaki, which extensively damaged the major part of the city. Now, many people that pray for world peace have visited Nagasaki Peace Park and Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum.

Ōita Prefecture


Prefectural capital:Ōita City
The nickname of Ōita Prefecture is the “Onsen Ōita”. In the both the number of hot springs and the volume of hot water produced, Ōita Prefecture is the number one in Japan. In particular Beppu and Yufuin Onsen are famous hot spring areas. There are more than 100 public hot springs in Beppu Onsen that is full of life as hot spring resorts.

Smokes in the photo are not the fire, are steams rising from hot springs. A town surrounded by steams is like Shangri-La. If you walk around wearing a yukata, it will be a great memory.
